INTRODUCTION

What is Nut Chords?

  Nut Chords is a chord and scale finder mainly for guitar players.
  It can detect all chords and chord positions, you can use all
  tunings, you can search all scales and arpeggios, make chord-
  diagrams, convert chords between fretboard and keyboard, you
  can play all chords and look for scales that fit your chords.
  The interface is keyboard/mouse based, mess around, very easy!

What do I need to use it?

  486+, Windows 95/98/NT. Wavetable soundcard and a guitar is recommended.

What's new?

  Press S in chord mode to show scales that have the notes of your chord.

  (When you enter your own scales on scale mode, program detects known
   scales if any. The known scales are the same as in the scalelist.)

Known bugs

  Nut Chords does not support large fonts, leaves crap if you use them.

Things to know about the program

  - Left mouse button sets fingerplaces, keys, chooses things, changes tuning.
  - Right mouse button clears boards, changes tuning.
  - Scroll the chord positions with arrow keys!!
    Up/Down shows variations around root, Left/Right changes root position
  - Chord-box shows the name of the current chord, the last chord formed.
  - Inversion-box shows the name of the 1st inversion like Cmaj7 = E/C
  - You can convert the !current chord! between fretboard and keyboard.
  - Use the filter to cut out worst positions for fingers.
  - BasicChords-box contain only some BASIC chords, you detect all chords by
    pressing keys or putting fingerplaces. You can search the chords were
    they valid chords or not (were there a name for your chord or not).
    Press keys or strings, check name, convert, search and so on...
  - 3 notes is the minimum to form a chord, 6 notes the maximum (6 strings).
    13-chord is 9-chord + 13-note in Nut Chords.
  - Use scale-mode to search for scales/arpeggios, powerchords etc.
  - You can form chord-diagrams, all diagrams at once and save them
  - You can change the tuning by pressing mouse button over the letters!!
  - You can select inversions by pressing backspace
  - And finally... press RETURN to play chords, have fun!

Some words about the program

  This is not a toy like the rest of the chord finders. It's an infite
  source of information where to play chords. Everything is possible,
  all chords, positions, tunings etc. Sorry for not writing more
  instructions. Best way to learn is to try everything! There's many
  ways to use Nut Chords, you'll find your own way.
