  Pac Mag #4 (1992, 10.05, ECS Chartmag).
code: Zany, gfx: Hellrazor, music: Dr.Feelgood/Cave, editor: Zany.
review: Pac Mag is a mag for the danish modem scene, but strangely written
in plain English ;) They do admit the scene is slow in Denmark (at that
time - only 4 elite boards, though another was announced this issue), and
do their best to rectify the situation with this mag. The code, graphics
or music are nothing groundbreaking at all, but do their job well, and the
reading experience is a brief and pleasant one. Not a bad experience at
all :) They announce the release date of the next issue as june 8th. Yeah
  right. [glenn]

Panic (1990-1992)
-----------------
???> Lynxx (code, 02/92).

Panic was born around july 1990 by members of Bitch Magnet. The group was
under the leadership of Flagg for their entire existence. The date of the
group's death (or rather split) is a little uncertain, but it was not long
after the cooperation with Agnostic Front split, possibly sometime in 1992.
At the time of the group's demise, Jesus was coding a trackmo that never got
released. This trackmo contained about six modules by CONS (Raphael, new
09/91), and when the project fell through he lost his scene motivation. He
remained inactive from the scene for several years, before reentering the
scene on the pc as a member of n-Factor in 1996.
1992 - German musician Emax left for TRSI in december.

Panoramic Designs (PD, 1990-)
-----------------------------
PD was originally a c64 group, and the amiga section was formed late 1990
by the former Norwegian division of Armada. Their first production "Amiga
First" [10/90] was released at the No Limits & Imp-666 Amiga Conference 90,
announcing the group's birth.

Paradise (PRD, 1991-1993)
-------------------------
SWE> Flex (trade, 10/93).

Paradise was a german based demo group. The group was formed by Tedric in
april of 1991, and died mid to late 1993. Organizers were Tedric and
Arcatronic.

Paradox [old] (PDX, 1989-1991, http://www.paradogs.com)
-------------------------------------------------------
FRA> Olivier (mainorg, 10/90)
???> Shapiro (code, 03-09/90), Tic (crack, 09/90).

Boards; THE JUNGLE (usa, ex Oracle, new 09/90).

Paradox was originally formed late 1989 by members of the danish group
Trilogy (Bad Boy, Black Hawk, Tas, Pcsu, Qrd) and the french group M.A.D
(Olivier, The Surge, Clash) with the intention of forming the mightiest
cracking constellation ever. Leaders of the group were originally The Surge,
Midnight Maniac and Olivier, with Blackhawk and The Surge doing most of the
cracking. Suppliers were Action Man, Spirit and Paragon. With this setup PDX
was immediately one of the top amiga cracking groups, and were staples on
the top of the charts from day one. Thanks to the history published on the
group's website for some information.
1990 - Dooley was listed as 'ex Paradox' in Brainstorm's diskmag "Zine #7"
[10/90]. American board THE JUNGLE joined from the dead Oracle around
september.

Paradox [new] (PDX)
-------------------
GER> Lincoln (07-08/94).
SWE> Hurricane (trade, 03/93-04/95), Nero (trade sysop PROPHETS HOLD, also
     in Origin, 09/94-04/95).
N-L> Papillon (sysop NETWORK).
USA> Acid (sysop LITHIUM WHQ, 07-09/94).
???> Efa (01/95).

Paradox was reborn in 1993 with Daryl/ex Shining as one of the leaders.
Midnight Maniac was back (albeit with a slightly lower profile than
earlier), Blackhawk was still one of the scene's most prolific crackers, and
Paragon still one of the best suppliers. Paradox were the undisputed number
one in its second incarnation. Maximilien was the new leader, and new
members like Zool (italy) and Lincoln (germany) helped raise the group even
further. The group now expanded, for the first time, into the console scene.
Releases were made on the SNES and Sega Genesis, under the able hands of
Belgarion (code) and Papillon (org). Even more challenges were sought, and
the group turned its attention to the pc scene...

Parallax (PRX)
--------------
Parallax is a Finnish demo group, who for a short while was a subgroup of
Scoopex under the name Parallax Design. However, they soon decided that
independence was best, and reverted to their original status.

Paranoimia (1988-1990)
----------------------
DEN> Pendec (code, 12/89).

Paranoimia was an elite cracking group built on the ruins of the legendary
World of Wonders in 1988 (july or earlier), and became a legendary group in
their own right. Among the ones from the old group were Kontrasoft and
Metallica.

Parasite [old] (PST, 1992-)
---------------------------
DEN> Dino (08/94), Douglas (code, previous hande Solid, 01/94-08/94), Splatt
(gfx, 08/94), The Whistle (code gfx music, 08/94).

PREVIOUS MEMBERS (pre 08/94) -

Parasite was an all-danish demo group, originally founded by Dino and Peter
in 1992.
1992 - Danish coder Tas joined from Palace in june. Danish coder Gargoyle
joined from Aero this year.
1993 - Danish graphician Pixie joined from Triax around the middle of the
year.
1994 - At least Mount (gfx), Pixie (gfx), Slide (music), Gargoyle (code),
Easley (swap) and Colin left this year to join Polka Brothers. As a result
of this, losing some of their key members, the group started falling apart
more and more - Danish coder Tas left the scene, famous danish swapper
Steffen left to form his own group Speedy, Liquid (music, 12/92-) left for
Disaster Design and Pearl (ex Angelica) left to be independent (and later
joined Razor 1911). This left only four members by august; Dino, Douglas,
Splatt and The Whistle, and the group was as good as dead.

Passion (PSN, 1994-)
--------------------
Passion was a danish demo group.

Perfects, The (1990-1990)
-------------------------
SWI> Atomix (new 03/90), X-Large (new 05/90).

The Perfects were a shortlived swiss demo group, born and dead in 1990. When
they died around september, swiss members Axel (music), The Fly (code) and
Peace (gfx) all joined Brainstorm, while Dr.O, Rotter, Israel and Sledge
joined Zeus.

Phantasm [new?] (PHN)
---------------------
GER> Gandalf (code raytrace sysop).

Phenomena (PHA, 1988-)
----------------------
SWE> Color (Robert Andersson, gfx, ex Dual Crew, new 12/90-92), Mace (code,
ex Dual Crew, new 12/90), Mantronix (Martin Wall, music, 12/92), Tip
(Robert Ling, music, ex Dual Crew, new 12/90-92)

Phenomena was formed around 1988 by Avalon (Mattias Berntsson from
Katrineholm, Sweden), who later left the scene. A successor of the group
Crack Force Five, they were a swedish-only crew, stressing friendship as an
important reason for this rule. Years later, of course, Andromeda would do
the same thing. A pure demo group, they are perhaps the ones that made the
best trackmo of all times; the fantastic "Enigma" [03/91]. While Scoopex'
"Mental Hangover" [04/90] was the first trackmo, "Enigma" was the one that
truly defined the standards of the genre. Unfortunately, after topping the
charts for ages, Azatoth lost his initiative to code.
1990 - Color, Mace and Tip all joined from Dual Crew in december.

 Iltis (1994, 06.08, 40k Intro).
code: Zod, Nrg, gfx: Prowler, music: Ache.
12th in the Assembly 94 40k intro competition.
review: Certainly no doubt that Pointless have squeezed at lot of the 30k
of diskspace that this intro occupies. This intro is BRIMMING with
effects of varying quality. The best bits are the remarkably great
Pointless logo (which reminded me a lot of Fade One's twisty logos!) and
a fast, good 3D dot landscape. Other things here are a 2x2 fractal zoom,
a fast linedrawer, a zoomrotating 'Iltis' logo, and a 3D starfield.
The music is the real letdown, with its techno overkill approach.
Not bad at all, and certainly not pointless :) [glenn]

Pixie (gfx, new 94-08/94), Sca (Lasse Bodilsen, code trade, 04/94-95),
Slide (music, new 94-09/94), Zinko (Jack Dandanell, swap, 08/94).
GER> Chromag (Timm Albers, music, also in Rebels, 09/94-05/95).

Polka Brothers were originally born mostly as a Danish joke group with
members doublejoining in from other groups. The original memberlist, as
shown in the POLKA BROTHER? demo, were Airwalk/Kefrens, Vention/Kefrens,
Easley/Parasite, Twilight/Desire, Mount/Parasite and Dice/Kefrens.
Of these, Twilight later left the scene to make game music professionally
for Craftgold. Polka Brothers will definitely live on in the annals of demo
history, along with Budbrain and Melon, as one of the crews that brought
humour to demos in a big way.
1994 - At least Mount (gfx), Pixie (gfx), Slide (music), Gargoyle (code),
Easley (swap) and Colin (all danes) left Parasite this year to join Polka
Brothers.
1994 - German musician Chromag joined as a double member from Rebels some
time between june and september this year.

Pure Metal Coders was a norway-based demo group.
1992 - Norwegian coders Anders Claussen (from Airborn) and Anders Hamre
(from Amiga Freelancers) both joined in january.
1993 - Since they felt the group was growing increasingly inactive,
the producers of R.A.W (Lord Helmet, Perplex and Kingpin) all decided to
leave the group for Spaceballs at The Gathering 93 in late april, and
announced the fact in "R.A.W #5", released shortly after the party.

  RAW #1 (1991, .11, ECS Diskmag).
INT - code: Designer, gfx: J.O.E/TRSI (pic), Fairfax (logo), music:
"Basshigh2c" by Comajim/New Wave (ProTracker MOD format).
MAG - code: M.M/New Wave, gfx: Enigma/Andromeda, Wimme/New Wave, Lord
Helmet (design), music: "Bonus" by Peter, "Tanker" by Mutant/New
Wave, "Jakarta" by Comajim/New Wave, edit: Lord Helmet (main),
Kingpin (co), Tommy Lothe/independent (co), Kalle Crackman/Fucking
        Nerds, Pivot/independent, Cocy, Cyberbit/New Wave.
Released in cooperation with New Wave.
review: After an intro that is only fair, with an intro picture followed
by a text plotter and an ok logo, we are launched into the first issue of
a mag that would prove legendary with time. The graphics of this first
issue are all but impressive, but you do get the feeling that this mag has
a pretty solid engine running it all. The fonts are all pretty good, but
the color choices are horrible and the polka-pig/checkerboard design of
the panels are nothing short of a small disaster :) Ofcourse, the true
measure of a mag's greatness (or indeed, downfall) is its editorial
content, and not its looks. Main editor (and some would perhaps say
'dictator' ;]) Lord Helmet goes right for the jugular, with an aggressive
and opinionated style of writing that the scene had never really seen
  before... The mag opens attacking three groups in quick succession;
Maniacs of Noise, Brainstorm and finally Quartex - no modesty here. Other
than that, this issue's articles has a pretty heavy graphics-basis, with
the highlight being the 'Graphicians About Graphicians' chapter. There are
interviews with Svein Berge (coder of the game Twintris), Steinar Apalnes/
  Airborn, J.O.E and Elmer/Symbiosis.
We have been having trouble pinpointing the release date EXACTLY, but
have come to the conclusion that it must have been released in the last
week of november or the first week of december 1991. RAW means
Revolutionary Article Work. Was this the first ever mag from a
scandinavian country, as they claim? For HD install, remember that the
disk/assign MUST be called "R.A.W:". News that Walkman had joined Scoopex
were, naturally, WRONG! Apart from the writers actually credited in the
credits screen, also the pseudonyms Morten H, Benji and Transistor
contributes articles to this issue. It is not clearly stated in the
credits of the mag that Kingpin was infact in New Wave and not Pure Metal
Coders at the time, but it is in the article "Slogans (s-z)". [glenn]

previous members of the shortlived Finnish section of The Silents. They

They have a special symbol, the so-called 'Pygmy sun'. It can be seen in
"Extension" (above the logo), "G-Force" (as a gouraud object) and "Logic"
(envmapped).
