From time to time I am experimenting with bringing my expressionistic drawings to pixels.
It’s an interesting process that carries a few challenges; the biggest being the fact that the low resolution and colour restrictions
don’t work in favor of the expressive strokes drawn on the paper but rather force uniformity and stylization that I am not always keen
on going ahead with.

Well, I have to be honest and claim that I prefer the raw conversion (photo-to-pixels) you can see in step01 picture,
as that’s more related to the original drawing. On the other hand, the original drawing is abstract, while the pixel version is,
obviously, not abstract any more. So, as things progressed, I took the decision to balance things between defined
and raw (from conversion) materials within the same pic: huge stylized forms on the one, grainy surfaces on the other hand.

In the end, it’s those lines that go across and around things, defining and containing and connecting the various little stories
that are happening within the picture that do the trick. I like those lines. I feel it’s the most convincing way to go
for making ‘expressionistic pixel drawing’ if that can ever be a thing.
