KINDERGARDEN 2009 - 20-22. NOVEMBER, 2009

We are back, arranging yet another Kindergarden. The following info is
basically the same as always, but here it is for those of you who are
visiting Kindergarden for the first time, or has serious amnesia.

THE PARTY

In short, Kindergarden 2009 is a demoparty which will take place
during the weekend stretching from 20th to 22nd of November 2009 at
Haga Samfunnshus in eastern Norway. As for every demoparty with self
respect there will be compos, entertainment, great people and a
   friendly atmosphere.

Kindergarden 2009 is organized by Boozoholics.

FACILITIES AT THE VENUE

The place can seat around 100 people, and it also has a small sleeping
hall. Tables, chairs and electricity comes included in the entrance
fee (feel free to bring your own extension cords though, to be sure to
get connected). We have a small cafeteria where we strive to keep some
of your hunger and thirst at bay. Please note that the partyplace
probably has no connection to the Internet. However, there will be a
small intranet available, so bring your network cables.

There will also be a grill / bonfire and some wood. Feel free to bring
extra wood, as we always tend to run out.

Now that you have decided to come, please register yourself as a
visitor on demoparty.net to let the whole world know.

THE FOOD

After the success of the last three years, we will probably our dinner
menu offer. Details will follow later.

THE RULES

Every place has it's own set of rules. Kindergarden is no exception.
These rules have built up during the years and are as follow:
     * The rules are simple. We do not want to control your life. Just be
       nice, and use your brain.
     * Norwegian laws act as normal.
     * We can and will not take the responsibility for any kinds of theft
or injuries. Not even injuries by our big guards. You have no
       witnesses.
     * We do not allow anyone selling anything without WRITTEN permission
       from the organizers.
     * You are allowed to drink alcohol but note that too intoxicated
persons will be thrown out or given a good flushing in the toilet.
Don't drink more than you can handle. This will save both us and
yourself from a lot of trouble.
     * Puking inside the hall will be fined with 200 NOK. Please use a
toilet if you suddenly have an urge.
     * Smoking is not allowed inside, not even during the demo compo.
     * Illegal drugs are of course not allowed!
     * You have to be 18 or over to attend.
     * Any damage to personal and public property must be paid for. This
includes taking planks and other materials obviously supposed to
be used to renovate the kindergarten and make a bonfire out of
       them.
     * No tagging etc inside the partyarea. We WILL catch the ones who do
this, and we WILL beat them up and throw them in the trash. (After
taking all their money and calling their parents.)
     * Be polite and smile when the organizers try to fix your problems
and don't bitch the organizers all the time if you can fix
something yourself without us noticing. (But stay away from the
       power!)
     * No stabbing allowed inside the partyhall (Slummy/Spaceballs
       excepted)
     * All assigns are made relative to ADE

General rules for all compos:

     * All Entries must be delivered over the party-net. Some compos
require physical mediums, but such entries must still be
registered on the party web and delivered physically to the compo
       crew.
     * All competitions have a "no-go" limit. If there are too few
submissions in one competition, the competition will be combined
       with another competition.
     * If an entry requires user interaction, let the compocrew know by
writing it in the organizer info-field on the online contribution
       submission form.
     * Media containing compoentries will not be returned by default. If
you really need the media back, contact the compo crew.
     * Deadlines are not very flexible. Due to a lot of problems when
showing the compos at previous KGs we now need to be strict with
the deadlines. If you want the compos to run smooth you got to
give us some time to prepare, it's as simple as that.
     * If you have an entry for a platform we don't accept by default,
contact the compo-crew and we'll try to arrange something.
     * The compocrew reserve the right to disqualify entries that are too
unserious, boring, bad, disgusting or with racist, pornographic,
violent, disturbing or otherwise illegal content. In fact the
compocrew reserve the right to disqualify entries for any reason
       they find reasonable.
     * As always, we reserve the right to change any rule at any time.
For any reason. Even this rule if we feel like it.

Remote submissions

     * We do accept submissions over e-mail, but in order to get a prize,
you'll need a representative at the party-place. We won't send any
       prizes by snailmail.
     * Please contact the compo-crew as soon as possible if you plan to
       have a remote entry.
     * As said, let us know of your submission before the party starts -
and be ready to deliver the final entry before Saturday 21.
       November 12:00 CET.

THE FAQ

There will always be something that people wonder about, and will call
us voice and nag about. This should answer most of your queries.

Q: Can we reserve tables at Kindergarden for our group?
A: Only if you bring single malt whiskey or Havana Club Rum for
          Menace.

   Q: I'm a gamer. Can I come to KG?
A: No! Die! But seriosly, if you go to KG to play games you
really are in the wrong place. Kindergarden has it's focus on
the demoscene and not gaming. But if you're curious and want to
see what this demoscene thing is all about then KG is a perfect
place to learn. Talk to the sceners there and watch the compos.
          We're sure you'll be inspired.

   Q: Can I bring my microwave oven/fridge/etc?
A: Sure, if you bring your own supply of power.

Q: Is there any bustrips to Kindergarden from foreign countries?
A: Check newsgroups or scenerelated websites.

Q: Can I steal some equipment at the party? I really want that
          inflatable USB buttplug.
A: Sure. Can we rip out all your nails, beat you to a blood
pulp with a baseball bat and put needles in your testicles?

Q: Can we stretch the deadlines?
A: Earlier we've been quite flexible when it comes to
deadlines. TOO flexible. Because of this we didn't have enough
time to prepare the compos. If you want the compos to run
smooth without delays then you can contribute by delivering
your entry in time. Deadlines will be announced later on.

Q: What's this rumour I hear about there being an 18-year limit?
A: Limiting the party to those of eighteen years of age or
older allows us to avoid the rapidly increasing number of 14
year old gamers and it means that the visitors acts more
responsible and fair. Also, you have to be over 18 to drink
alcohol in Norway, and this way we don't have to run around
babysitting you. We don't see the limit as a problem since most
of the people usually attending KG are over 18 anyway. If you
really wanna come to KG even if you're underaged then contact
the organizers and ask for an invitation. This should be no
problem if your're a scener or want to become one.

  From Gothenburg/Stockholm/Denmark/Southern Norway

Get to Oslo, then follow the description from Oslo.

By plane

There are three airports you can choose from if you want to reach
   Kindergarden from abroad.

  Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL)

This is the airport closest to the partyplace, situated about 1 hour
in traveling distance from the partyplace (depending on the train
connections). From here, you just have to follow the instructions for
   train.

As this is the main airport of Oslo there should be quite a number of
airliners going here, we suggest you check your favourite one.

  Moss Airport Rygge (RYG)

The recently opened Rygge Airport is something like one hour bus ride
from Oslo. You can also take the train to Oslo, the airport offers a
free bus ride to the train station. The station is Rygge. After you
get to Oslo, follow the instructions for train.

  Sandefjord Airport Torp (TRF)

A bit further in distance is Sandefjord Lufthavn Torp (Also for some
reason called Oslo Torp). The bus ride to Oslo takes be two hours.
Once in Oslo, again follow the instructions for train.

   Ryanair flies to this airport.

  Late arrivals / early departures

If you're planning to come to Kindergarden via plane and arrive late
friday evening / leave early sunday morning please contact the
organizers before you book. This to make sure you're able to reach the
partyplace by public transportation - it doesn't go too late at night
or start too early in the morning.

By train

Catch the train for rnes at Oslo S (the central station) and get off
at Haga. If you're coming from the direction of Oslo Airport
Gardermoen (that means everything up north) you have to catch the
train for Oslo S, but get off at Lillestrm (before Oslo) and change
to the rnes train. See nsb.no for timetables and more detailed info.
Haga trainstation is located 150 meters from the partyplace.

By taxi

You can actually go by taxi from the airport or from Oslo but that's
extremely expensive. Be advised that you should avoid cabs from the
City Taxi company at all costs, as they are charging way more than any
other cab company in the area.

By bus

A bus from rnes can be used to arrive just at the doorstep of the
partyplace. Bus 889 for Rnsfoss. Get off at Haga. Check
   trafikanten.no for timetables.
