COMMODORE 64 SID MUSIC BY VIBRANTS
OLD TUNES AND TUNES IN OTHER PLAYERS BY JCH 1987-90
UPDATED 4 JULY 1998 BY JENS-CHRISTIAN HUUS

This package should contain three archives with all the music done by Jens-Christian Huus
in other routines than his usual NewPlayer system.

Archive Players Years Tunes

IN_LAXS.ZIP Laxity's old player	1988 6
OLD87-88.ZIP	The old JCH player	1987-88 32
VARIOUS.ZIP	See below 1988-90 5

Total - 1987-90 43

The VARIOUS.ZIP archive contains music in players by 20CC, Maduplec, Zoolook, a single
experimental player by myself, and a tune in Future Composer.

Worktunes and released tunes in the NewPlayer by JCH have been moved to different archives
especially dedicated to these tunes. Please pay a visit to our homepage if you wish to
download some of the additional SID music. Of course, you will also be able to download
all our FastTracker II music here, as well as SID music from other members of Vibrants.

To play the music you need a SID emulator called SidPlay. This can be
downloaded from http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/5147/

Note that the old 1,3 Mb package from 1995 which contained music utilities, SID tunes, and
D64 files is no longer supported. The contents of this package have been rearranged and
presented in smaller chunks instead - this archive being one of them. The new archives
are superior to the old 1,3 Mb package because I enhanced many of the tunes in several
ways. For example, correct and precise years have now been applied to all of them.

The old music in my first player system from 1987-88 was terrible to say the least, but I
was very enthusiastic about making music and it was quite fun. Actually I made all the
music in "Aegis Sonix" on the Amiga. After having made the players on the C64 I converted
the music by writing down the notes on paper, retyping the notes into a simple BASIC loader
on the C64. It sounds very awkward and believe me, it was! Running through a complete tune
with terrible sounds, adjusting them while listening was tiresome - yet, I managed to make
all the tunes that you'll find in the OLD87-88.ZIP archive.

Right after doing the tunes in the old horrible player from 1987-88, I hacked a version of
Laxity's player and started using it. This lasted for six tunes until Laxity approached me
at a party and told me to leave his player alone. From this point I had learned a lot about
how to code players, so I finally started coding the NewPlayer series instead. Laxity and
I soon became better friends, however, and he even joined Vibrants some years later.

The tune "Fooled Again" was a tune I made in an experimental player I coded, which was very
much different from my usual NewPlayer system.

The tune in Zoolook's player was a test I made while helping my group mate Zoolook improve
his player. This tune has not been released before.

After the music group "20CC" had been in the demo scene for some time a sourcecode was
hacked and spread on the american BBS. I managed to get a version of the sourcecode and did
the tune "Illegal Man" - more or less for fun. It was composed in the assembler listing.

The tune "Typhus #1" in Future Composer was done right after Laxity told me to stop using
his players in 1988. I composed the tune while testing the editor, but didn't like it.
Shortly after I started programming the NewPlayer routines instead.

All the music is copyright (C) 1998 Jens-Christian Huus, Vibrants.
