On site recovering the Markeese murder investigation reported 28Mk/Pn
ago, our team uncovered a strange object in possession of the deceased
Fract Mining Corp crew member nr.82.

The object is of an undetermined Silfaritian composite, 25Rb voidnull
resistance. Roughly shaped in the form of a robust ellipsoide with a
3rd Hamsler degree inclination, 220Bk per 180Bk, normalized
vertically. The orientation bears meaning due to several rune-like
markings on a section of the surface. On the top extremity, a few
number of vein indentations reveals a core of a distinct Silfarit
based composite.

The object appears to be of unknown Stellar origin. There are rumours
spread amongst our team suggesting it to be from an ancient race that
colonized the Quasar quadrant roughly 25hbk/Pl ago, the Shrak'v,
however, there are no actual cognitive evidence to corroborate these
claims. And even though certain cultural traces might recall a few
artifacts commonly known as beeing used in sacrificial rituals of the
Plegnose and Sharav'n empires, our alien culture expert, Fr. Marvidal,
was quite reluctant to confirm or deny it's relevant ressemblance, and
was in fact quite firm to discourage any preliminary malassociation.

During our analysis of the object, we unravelled that pressing certain
four runes in a determined order causes the object to glow through two
orifices located close together near the top. Along with this glowing
behaviour, the object equally emanates a strange audiophonic aura. We
have recorded a few short clips of these triggered combinations and
included them in our nominal digital replica-simulation of the object
in the event that they could not be reproducable later on due to
further detriment of the artifact's working condition. Our analysis of
it's bad condition is based on the somewhat erratic observed behaviour
that we encountered when handling the rune dial - our reference name
to the set of touch runes carved on the object - which could indicate
a partial malfunction of the device. Statistical analysis of this
erratic glowing behaviour leads to believe that, possibly due to some
internal damage, the device is revealing the 3 last positions of the
recorded paths 60% of the times. Both our crew member technology
senior officers were unable to attain a non-destructive mean to
disassemble and analyse the workflow of the artifact without causing
any permanent damage. They have however concluded that it is possible
that the object could have been reforged upon it's manufacture to
conceal assembly marks, whether this could be intentional or not, it's
quite hard to determine due to the unknown origin of the compost.
There is also the theory that the entire artifact is composed of one
sole piece absorbing and capturing it's energy through the indentation
veins exposed on the top. In a similar way to certain objects from the
Yarko'ns in the Krnatvoyag Galaxy. We can only speculate without the
necessary equipment for further testing.

The object now rests in the hands of the foreign archive manager Pr.
Stl'ra and is to be transported to the nearest ATC foreign archive
transfer post located in a stationary base around Frlak, Sigma-45 in
the 14th Xicago Quadrant, just a mear 12Pn/r away from our current
location.
