Subject: Programming in general...

I am fairly skilled in programming in C and C++. Unfortunately,
programming hardware such as the GUS is new to me. I have the SDK, and
have reviewed it, but it kind of eludes me on how exactly to program the
GUS. Could someone give me a quick intro on how to(for example) load a GM
patch and play it back at a certain note? If its too complicated is there
some sort of FAQ that has it?
