The "!RMScrape" application is freeware.

=============================================================================

Background
==========
When some programs quit, they don't tidy up after themselves. Often, a
program will load up modules, claiming precious RMA space, but not kill them
after use. Well, now you can combat this, with the system extension comand,
"*RMScrape", from Sounds Riscy.

Use
===
To kill a set of modules, simply enter RMScrape at the command line (press
F12 in the desktop), with the following parameters:

Syntax: *RMScrape <start moduletitle> [<end moduletitle>]

<start moduletitle> is the first module to kill, and <end moduletitle> is
the last. The modules are killed in chronological order, as shown by the
"*Modules" command, inclusive of the two typed in. If you don't specify
<end moduletitle>, then *all* modules after <start moduletitle> will be
killed. If a module cannot be killed, a message is shown, and the process
continues with the next available module.

For example:

The excellent vector graphics program, "ArtWorks", may be a great package,
but it doesn't clean up after itself. If you issue a "*Modules" command
after quitting Artworks, you will see something like this:

 ...
 93 0188E424 01870B24  ImageExtend
 94 01892414 0189BD54  GDraw
 95 0189FFB4 01870604  FontDraw
 96 018A4474 0186BF44  GSpriteExtend
 97 018AA4F4 018B0F84  DitherExtend
 ...

To get rid of these unnecessary modules, simply type at the command line:

RMScrape ImageExtend DitherExtend

...and RMScrape will kill the "ImageExtend", "GDraw", "FontDraw",
"GSpriteExtend" and "DitherExtend" modules. If there are no more modules
after "DitherExtend", then you can just issue:

RMScrape ImageExtend

...to do exactly the same thing.

The command "*RMScrape" can be shortened to "*RMSc." if required.

Known Bugs
==========
ArcFS doesn't like you quitting it's "ArcFSUpCall3" and "ArcFS" modules
together (very bad programming on their behalf), but it won't crash too
badly (you might lose the pointer or some sprites on return to the desktop).

Disclaimer

matters howsoever caused arising from the use or misuse of this program and
it's contents, be they legal or otherwise.

The Future
==========
Sounds Riscy are thinking about releasing a module that contains lots of RMA
management enhancements. If you have written any extra commands similar to
RMScrape, then please get in touch.
