{fb1000000of the Amalgamation tour which continues again in September of this year. These shows create a blend across both musical and social cultures - featuring amongst others Senser, Credit to the Nation, Trans Global Underground, Fun-Da-Mental, Blaggers ITA, and Ash.

The summer of 1994 saw PWEI yet again as one of the main attractions at the Phoenix festival and the release of the single Everything's Cool?.

The new album, featuring Auslander, RSVP, Familus Horribilus and Everything's Cool? is entitled Dos Dedos Mis Amigos (meaning Two Fingers My Friend), and is released on September 19th 1994.

{fb1000000
After reading the last page and a bit you may be wondering if the Poppies are actualy any good. Well here we have a review of every PWEI ablum from 'Go Box Frenzy' to 'Dos dedos mis amigos' (apart from the greatest hits package which RCA put out).

{fb10000FFGo Box Frenzy
{fb1000000This is one of the Poppies first long players (the first being 'Now for a Feast'). The scribbled writing on the inside cover says it all; 'The Poppies are Crap'. Strictly speaking that's not true, but try and tell them that! It includes the now legendary 'Beaver Patrol' and 'Love Missile F1-11'. The album seems the be obsessed by crusties eg 'Grebo Guru' and 'Time To Get Ugly' and it even includes a few love songs! ('She's Surreal' & 'There is no Love Between us Anymore'). In all a good album worth it just for a laugh.

Puchasing note: Chapter 22 released a version of 'Go Box' and 'Now for a Feast' as a two disc set, you can pick this up for a bargin price a your local indie shop.

{fb10000FFThis is the day... This is the hour... This is this!
{fb1000000The Poppies first album for RCA, and in my opinion their best work so far. It includes 'Wise up sucker', 'Can U dig it' and 'Def. Con. One'. Dance, metal and rap at its best. Who can not like lyrics like 'Big Mac fries to go'? It even contains James Brown samples with the message 'Not now James we're busy'. Great!

{fb10000FFThe Pop Will Itself Cure For Sanity
{fb1000000This is probably the weakest album the Poppies have made! Although it does contain the single which took them to the big time, 'X Y & Zee'. Nuff said really. Buy all the others first and then buy this to complete the collection!

{fb10000FFAt Weirds Bar and Grill
{fb1000000This is the live album which was record while on Galaxian Patrol in 1992 (the first time I saw them live). Recorded at the Brixton Academy, they were on form and anybody who has seen them live will be glad to hear all the atmosphere has been captured. It includes all the hits, but does draw on the 'Cure for Sanity' album more than the older stuff. It even includes material from the next review. If you have never seen the Poppies Live then this is an excellent way of gaining the experience without leaving your home!

{fb10000FFLooks or the lifestyle?
{fb1000000By now the Poppies were starting to become the band they are today. This album includes the hits 'Get the Girl + Kill the baddies', the floor filler 'Bulletproof' and 'Karmadrome'. As well as their return to form, this album also was also their last for RCA; RCA's loss? But were the Poppies getting serious? Not with songs like 'I was a Teenage Grandad'.

{fb10000FFDos dedos mis amigos
{fb1000000The latest offering form PWEI. This has a number of styles all mixed into one package (indutrial, dance, rap and a bit of indie). Political? Yes, but not to the extent of some of today's artists like Rage Aaginst The Machine etc. Featuring the singles 'Ich Bin Ein Auslander', 'RSVP' and 'Everythings Cool', this sees the Poppies restored to the hights of This is the day. If you should buy any Poppies album, then buy this one, see them live and then buy the rest!
