            The mixer menu

            Mixer

The mixer menu is invoked by pressing <ALT+M> or by
clicking on the 'MIXER' button on page 1.

The mixer menu is also active during sampling and
            input monitoring.

The mixer menu looks something like this:

              Ŀ
                     Ŀ Ŀ
               MIXER SOUNDBLASTER 16 o

MAIN DAC FM MIC LINE CD SAMPLE RATE
               ĿĿĿĿĿĿ ĿĿĿ
                            <> C-4

               ͳͳͳ ͳ Ŀ Ŀ
                            FILTER HI LO

                                     Ŀ Ŀ
                     ͳ ͳ BITS 8 16

               Ŀ Ŀ Ŀ Ŀ
                 Ok Ok Save Load

At the top of the mixer menu, in the 'mixer' textbox,
the selected mixer hardware is shown.

The small button to the right of the textbox is used
to switch between mixers if you have both a GUS and
a SoundBlaster PRO or better installed.

The six sliders are used to control the sound level of
the different inputs and outputs the selected mixer
            may have.

All sliders except for the MIC slider are in stereo.
Set left/right channel by pressing left/right mouse
            button while sliding (or both).

With a SoundBlaster PRO card, the input source for
recording may be set without using the sliders. To
select an input source, just click on one of the
            MIC, LINE or CD texts.

The FILTER setting is also strictly for the SB PRO.
It lets you select between two low-pass filters used
while recording. The 'HI' filter cuts frequencies over
8.8 kHz, the 'LO' filter cuts at 3.2 kHz.

            NOTE TO GRAVIS ULTRASOUND USERS:

I am sorry to say that SBStudio only supports the
old GUS mixer. Therefore, only the MAIN, MIC and
LINE sliders will work, and just as ON/OFF toggles.

The sample rate for recording is also selected from the
mixer. Use the up/down buttons to select the desired
            recording rate.
Click on the sample rate window to toggle between hertz
and note rate selection. They are independent of each
            other.

The BITS setting lets you select between 8 and 16 bit
recording resolution. 16 bit recording is currently
only available with the SoundBlaster 16.

The 'SAVE' and 'LOAD' buttons do exactly what they
say, they save and load the mixer settings.
