            About SBStudio

            Welcome to SBStudio II!

SBStudio II is a complete music program for the Gravis
            UltraSound and SoundBlaster sound cards.

SBStudio II gives you 4-16 channels of 8/16 bit audio
to play with, an advanced sample editor, sound card
mixer control, sampler, MIDI IN and OUT, ability to
load and save Amiga .MOD files, GUS .PAT support and
            much more.

            Requirements

            CPU:

              - 386SX or better.

            RAM:

              - 420k free CONVENTIONAL memory.
              - 840k free EXTENDED memory.

If you are using a memory manager with UMB support,
you may load a part of SBStudio high with the "LH"
command. This requires about 50k of continous upper
memory, and will save the same amount of conventional
              memory.

            VIDEO:

              - MCGA/VGA graphics system.

            MISC:

              - A mouse + mouse driver software.

            Sound hardware supported

SBStudio supports, and is tested with, the following
            sound cards:

              - Gravis UltraSound
(Tested up to v3.7 and GUS MAX)

              - SoundBlaster 16

              - SoundBlaster PRO

              - SoundBlaster 2.0

I do not guarantee that SBStudio will work with any
            so-called 'SoundBlaster compatible' cards.

            Incompatibilities

SBStudio II has very few known compatibility problems.
However, more problems are bound to arise, since i
don't have all possible configurations available.

If you find any bugs or incompatibilities that are not
covered here or in the part 'Questions and answers',
            please contact me.

            Here are the known ones:

              - SOUNDBLASTER:
BPM tempo changes delay the sound output on
SoundBlaster cards a bit, because the sound buffer
length has to be changed. This is because of the
SoundBlaster architecture, it is NOT a bug.

              - SOUNDBLASTER:
Strange things happen if you run SBStudio with
SoundBlaster sound while running a newer version of
                QEMM (v6.00 > ?). I don't know who is to blame,
but I'll be working on it.

            Henning Hellstrm wishes to thank
