Extended MikMod 2.oOo and Windows 95
                      [version 1.98, beta release 1]

Currently Extended MikMod works VERY well inside of Windows95 as long as
you tell it that you are running in a Win95 environment with either the
`/win' option or by setting `windows = enabled' in the configuration
 file.

Remember that Windows95 will generate an error stating that XMM may not
run well in a window if XMM has not been started in windows mode. This
allows you to exit XMM as fast as possible, because it has been known
to toally CRASH Win95 in std. operation mode.

All supported soundcards work under Win95!

Extended MikMod has been etsted under a Win95 environment with all Sound-
Blaster, SoundScape, and GUS cards and has proved to be exellent at multi-
tasking and stability (about as good as a DOS module player can get, we
 dare say).

 A Windows95-Specific Interface!

All shells will now work in Windows95 nearly flawlessly. Unfortunately,
because of Win95's display limitations, volume bars will not work prop-
erly (screen polling is just WAAY to slow) and the Hardcode logo cannot
 be shown.

The Extended MikMod windows compatable display mode can be toggled on and
off by hitting `w' in the XMM shell. Best multitasking will come from
using the XMM shell or the mikmod shell because of their simplicity when
 dealing with video output.

We will soon add a more flexible interaction with Win95, allowing XMM to
take advantage of increased window sizes and the ability to display more
information in the window at once because of such.
