	Prntyi Muzak Intermediate Quality Music Player v2.00 Readme File
	~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Setting speed
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sample song BOCIBOCI.EXE should play for 10 seconds. Adjust the delay
multiplying factor in ADEXE.PAS\function playexe if needed. (Default is for
8MHz XTs, like the one Prntyi 2 was written on.)

This is a GREAT player... But where's a tracker for it?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nowhere. If you look closely, you can find some unused funcions and procedures
in ADEXE.PAS. These were to be used in a tracker, but since I wasn't able to
code the player and the tracker in 24 hours (for a thousand reasons; I'm not
*that* lame! :-), the tracker was not released. Anyway, who cares? Nobody
asked for a tracker fo Prntyi v1.0! Just listen to "Boci Boci Tarka", or try
to reverse-engeneer this junk and write songs in a hex editor (like I did). And
forget about Prntyi being a "GREAT" player!
What is ADEXE?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's yet another useless, primitive algorythm to convert code to notes. It is
in some way analogous to the ADPCM Codec, except that this time we're decoding
executables; hence the name ADEXE.

The sounds keep playing after exiting Prntyi. Is there a way to prevent it?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No; it's not a bug, it's a FEATURE! Doesn't it make you *real* nervous? Now
*that's* what it was designed to do!
Next release
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll write the next version of Prntyi... on 12-31-1997/1-1-1998 - as this
version was written on 12-31-1996/1-1-1997, and v1.0 on 12-31-1995/1-1-1996.
(I promise I won't release such perverted utilities on any other day of the
year... :-)

Can I play Prntyi v1.0 songs with Prntyi v2.00?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of course not! It would be too useful then. Instead, all versions are/will be
completely incompatible to all previous versions! Isn't this a wonderful
concept?
The environment in which Prntyi was created
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
v1.0 was coded on a 16MHz 286 with 2 Megs of RAM, a 40MB and a 20MB MFM HDD and
a CGA, while BuXY and Stefano were playing Doom on our 4Meg 486DX40. v2.00 was
created at Sati's place on an 8MHz 640k Amstrad XT with a Hercules monitor and
a 20Meg HDD. In the background BuXY and Sati tried to Doom/Duke3D/etc. each
other on 2 linked PCs, one being a 5x86-160 with 12 Megs, the other a 486DX4-100
with 8 Megs (ofcoz both with sound cards). Suppose v3.000 will only be
available for the ZX Spectrum, and while I'm coding it, BuXY, Sati, Stefano and
a few other dudez will play VR-Quake on Pentium Pros...

	Happy New Year'97 to all those who like false music! :-)
