Atomic Bomberman review (july'97, issue #2) by iNTENSE

Atomic Bomberman is a well waited for hit multiplayer release by
Interplay. Run your little bomber around happily in single player battle
mode blowing up small blocks of whatever you wanna call it while gathering
deadly items to use on your enemy, usually an AI player or maybe a few AI
players. Not only does it have single player battle mode but it also has
serial/modem/ipx games, but unfortunatly has NO TCP/IP play. Unlike the
SNES version, it has no single player mode where you fight bosses and collect
items that you can use to gain levels and kill small bad guys. The graphics
on PC are mediocre, only due to the not-so-high resolution! You can see the
somewhat blocky pixels still, which is quite a dissappointment because they
are still VERY creative graphics which still attract your eyes..if it was a
higher resolution it would only perfect the game. There are many styles of
graphics you can choose for the layout of the level, and lots of options to
customize your own personal game.

In single player battle mode you can choose how many AI enemies you
want to play against, and whether or not you want some humans to join in as
well:). PCGamer says this is quite possibly the BEST multiplayer game to
hit PC (so does next gen), but considering it doesnt have TCP/IP support, i
find that hard to understand. I think this game is well worth the download,
and the fact that you can customize your own sounds makes it even funner.
