Ph's Word: This zine is the best! I was so moved by it, I went and
visited the commune, The people have such a cool way of life
They aren't just a bunch of lazy drugged out hippis, but
really straight intelligent creative and most of all HONEST
people, living on over 200 acres of farmland near Austin
Tx. They got all the essentials to live self sufficiently,
plus deals with the city to tear down old housing to use the
lumber, they recycle lots of mechanical parts from junk yards,
rebuild cars, etc... They trade letters with scientists,
writers, doctors, people all over to stay current with
growing needs.. It's all very organized. Plus lots of
artists, writers, musicians.. It's An alternative way to
             live. Dig it?
Read it, it could give you new hope for the future.

Excerpt: Letter sent into ZF from "Johnny the Boy"
             Yeah I'm a Zendik! Yeah, I'm in 9th grade and I'm 14 years old.
WOW. Yeah, I put ten bucks in this letter for a subscription to your
    mag. Thanx.
Once upon a time... I was skating in Huntington Beach, and a chick
asked me if I wanted to read the ZF mag. I said "sure." I bought it,
flipped through, and it was cool. It was the issue with the Butthole
Surfers in it, and "The Wall" movie review, the Abbie Hoffman thing, and
something else called "Cocoa Puffs, the Occult and something". The
thing that made me really dig the mag at first was the Sub Humans!, etc.
etc. WOW, especially the rudimentary Peni, I thought it was a total punk
rock mag! So I read more...
I read it all through, about two times. I had it for about two
weeks. The one day... IT WAS THROWN AWAYYYY! AAARGH! By Whom? I
don't know. All knowledge of the Z-farm was partially lost.
Until... One day I went to Catalina Island, I stayed for awhile, and
on the last day of my visit I met two wonderful people. We talked for
hours. So I don't know how to ask to go there. I'd like to visit on
Christmas Vacation with my Uncle Dan. Lessee, my Uncle Dan knows alot
about the occult. He's got the Necronomicon too! WOW! My friend Cece
is a witch, she's cool, but she turns magic into a total religion.
        So whudda-bout me? I'm a lame-o, Leo, knowledge-aholic, semi vege-
tarian, punk-rot, dirt pile, nature boy, asshole, hippie, idealist,
anarkist, ever-loving, skateboarding, guitar playing fool. [Sounds like
ME! -BA] I love to Skate cos it's absolute physical-abstract art. It's
a total anarchist activity too. If Socrates asked me, "What is the best
way to live?", I'd most definitly describe a Z-farm environment cos
peace can be found and produced in an environment like The Farm.
Freedom is happiness, sharing is pleasure and friendship. The death-
kultur takes that away from me, and doesn't give me the balls to leave.
        SKOOL SUCKS.
Please understand me, I kind of feel impersonal writing like this
and all, so could someone be my personal writing friend?! I would
    thoroughly appreciate it. Thanx.

Oh yeah since I don't have any more money can you record the Zendik
Farm Tape, "The Loser" onto the tape enclosed?

    Reply from Zendik Farm:
    Johnny,
Your letter turned me on cause it seemed like a pretty honest repre-
sentation of yourself. There isn't a more worthwhile trait for a person
    to have than Honesty.
Don't let the Deathkultur take away your balls!! It's gonna beat
you up and it's gonna fuck with you, that's what it does to the outlaws
out there. Shit, that's what it does to everybody! But try to find an
artform or other outlaws you can be honest with.
We're sending you The Loser, compliments of ZF. It's been my
favorite album ever since the 1st time I listened to it. Not that there
isn't good punk rock out there but it's seemed kind of bland after I
    heard The Loser.
We're sending you some pieces from earlier mags that I think you'll
like. I hope you visit during your break. Call or Write and tell us
what's up. Oh yeah, I'm glad you see skating as an art, it is nothing
    less.
