This is the fourth pre-release version of MIDAS Sound System
v0.50. A few major changes that should be emphasized are:

        * All known bugs are fixed, and as MIDAS has been extensively
tested under Windows NT, which has much stricter protection
than DOS4GW, MIDAS should be pretty stable now.
        * Several new commands implemented in gmplayer, all modules
should now be played correctly. If you know modules which are
          played incorrectly, contact us.

Bugs or misfeatures that still remain to be fixed are:

        * No 16-bit sample support with any sound cards
        * The music synchronization command still does not work. If you
really need this for something, contact us - the fix
          shouldn't be that difficult.
        * Stereo mixing is still slower than necessary.

Most of the old stuff applies still. Check out DEMO.C - it shows
you how to use MIDAS. Also, now included is a MOD2GM (works with
all format though) converter for GMPlayer internal format, and
an example how to use these .GM files (PLAYGM.C). The advantage
in using .GM files is that they can be loaded into memory as one
big chunk - you can use what ever methods you want to compress
them etc.

Read REV050.TXT for more information on the changes made, although we
haven't updated it too regularily.

We have also included a better version of MIDAS Module Player for
Windows NT. It now has a reasonable GUI, and is much more stable. Most
MIDAS development is done under Windows NT, so you can expect better
versions soon enough.

Remember to read LICENSE.TXT to check out how you are allowed to
use MIDAS. But remember, commercial licenses are available too!
Also, you _MUST_ include proper credits in your program - after
all, you get all this for free.
